Quality checks for BOQ data
A workflow guide for preparing and reviewing a BOQ. It describes professional checks and does not promise automatic recognition, compatibility or a connection that has not been verified for the project.

Check the source
Start with coverage: compare the required work in project documents with its data representation. A calculated quantity does not establish full chapter coverage. Record missing work, incomplete data and unresolved decisions separately.
Incorporate the data
Check units, duplication, unusual values and source separation. Visual model inspection complements numerical review rather than replacing it. A list with no arithmetic errors can still rely on the wrong scope.
Review before issue
A finding should identify the line, source, discrepancy and required follow-up. BOQ review is not certification of standards compliance or engineering approval of a model. Each professional discipline retains its own responsibility.
Review checklist
- Identify the source file and revision.
- Record the unit and measurement rule, and check scope boundaries.
- Distinguish model data, manual completion and AI suggestions.
- Record missing data or exceptions before using a quantity for pricing.
