From the BOQ to resources and construction planning
A workflow guide for preparing and reviewing a BOQ. It describes professional checks and does not promise automatic recognition, compatibility or a connection that has not been verified for the project.

Check the source
Work quantity supports planning but is not itself a duration. Productivity, crew size, access conditions and sequence are also needed. Identify activities that depend on completion of earlier work.
Incorporate the data
Break quantities into packages and periods without double counting. Work may be divided by level or zone, but the total must reconcile with the BOQ. Shared resources require an availability check across packages.
Review before issue
For monitoring, compare actual progress with the approved baseline and explain changes. A quantity table does not establish an automatically approved schedule. Review and update the programme against project conditions with those responsible for execution.
Review checklist
- Identify the source file and revision.
- Record the unit and measurement rule, and check scope boundaries.
- Distinguish model data, manual completion and AI suggestions.
- Record missing data or exceptions before using a quantity for pricing.
